BACKGROUND: A common practice in Europe that continues to this day, is the issue of a remembrance card on the death of a family member. These would be distributed to friends and family as a memorial item.

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: A bi-fold, light weight, card stock remembrance card with printed script and close-up black and white photographs of "Georg Schillinger" and "Matthias Öller". Schillinger died in Oryol, Russian on May 29^th, 1942 at the age of 24. Oller died at Pfaffenheim, in the Rhineland on March 16^th, 1945 at the age of 18.
