21cm x 29cm hardcover book, with one hundred-nineteen pages and over ninety photos. Book is subtitled, "Erinnerungen An Grosse Tage der SS Totenkopf-Division im Französischen Feldzug 1940", (In Remembrance of Great Days of the SS Totenkopf-Division in the French Campaign 1940), and recounts the role of 3RD SS-Panzer-Division "Totenkopf" in the French campaign of 1940. Book opens with a forward by SS-Gruppenführer and divisional commander Theodor Eicke, in printed facsimile handwritten Sütterlin script. Book continues with a map of France that traces the movements of the division right up until the close of the campaign. Book is primarily a photographic record with ninety-five photos, including many full page photos and eight pages of reinforcing text. Photos are credited to SS War Correspondent photographers, and each photo is accompanied with a printed caption. Photos clearly show a great variety of uniforms, headgear, field gear, weapons and equipment, including camouflage smocks and helmet covers. Additional photos show German soldiers in action, French and British prisoners, destroyed enemy equipment and towns, as well as German wounded and graves. Pages show minor age yellowing but are all intact. External binding seam has torn off but does not affect internal pages Very nice photographic campaign record.
