N066376 MAX SCHMELLING PRESS PHOTOGRAPHS GROUPING. (Pressefoto).

BACKGROUND: This photo along with many others came back with a Canadian vet at the end of WW2. We just received the grouping from the family. Most are unpublished Hoffman's, never before seen. Heinrich Hoffman was the official photographer for Adolf Hitler. Note: Max Scmelling was a German boxer who was heavyweight champion of the world between from 1930 to 1932. His two fights with Joe Louis in 1936 and 1938 were worldwide cultural events because of their national associations. During World War II, Schmeling served with the German Air Force (Luftwaffe) as an elite paratrooper (Fallschirmjäger).

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: A group of five, 18.5cm x 13cm, high quality, black and white press photographs. The photographs are all Press Hoffman and dated between 1938 and 1939.
