N055591 KdF HESSEN/NASSAU PROVINCIAL DONATION BADGE. (Schenkungabzeichen)
A cast alloy badge, 32mm in diameter. The badge reads "N.S.Gem. Kraft Durch Freude" (National Socialist Community ["Gemeinschaft"] Strength Through Joy) encircles a vertical, waving bar with "Rhein" to it, from which a similar, horizontal bar with "Main" to it extends. These two rivers are set against a painted red background, to whose base is the KdF logo of a mobile swastika within a cogged wheel against a larger, sunwheel swastika. "Gau Hessen-Nassau" is to the scroll which forms the base of the badge. A horizontal pin-back device is crimped to its reverse, underneath of which is embossed "E. Ferd. Wiedmann" and "Frankfurt a.M. S.10."
