(Abzeichen)BACKGROUND: Der Stahlhelm (Steel Helmet), was a League of Combat Veterans formed in 1918, whose personnel were mostly absorbed in to the SA by 1933. In 1935, the league was disbanded, with the remaining members being absorbed by the DRKB, which in turn was absorbed by the NS-RKB in 1938. In January 1924, the Stahlhelm established a youth group, Jungstahlhelm.
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: A 37mm x 11mm, stamped alloy badge in silver wash. Makers marked, ‘ ST. & L. L. Ges. Gesch.’. Complete with pin-back device.
