N041786 RAD ARBEITSGAU I EAST PRUSSIA TRADITIONS CAP BADGE. (Traditions Mützenabzeichen)

BACKGROUND: This specialized headgear insignia was first adopted by the RAD in 1938. Of the forty Arbeitsgaue, of seventeen were granted permission to wear the traditions cap badge. The design normally reflected the history and tradition of the area in which the Arbeitsgaue was located.

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Traditions badge from Arneitsgau I (East Prussia). Stylized mobile swastika and shield device, die struck in tombac with a silver wash. Enamel work in white & black to the front of the badge.  Reverse is maker marked "Paulmann & Crone Lüdenscheid". Reverse has one of its original attachment prongs. Size is app 25mm X 25mm. Scarce.
