BACKGROUND: An award badge for the NSRL, "Nationalsozialistischer Reichsbund für Leibesübungen" (National-socialist State-league for Physical-fitness), which was incorporated into the DRL, "Deutscher Reichsbund für Leibesübungen" (German State-league for Physical-fitness), without changing their award insignia, in 1938.
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: This cloth version of the award, which would have been sewn to an athletic uniform, has, machine woven in bronze-colored threads to its black rayon base, an eagle with down-swept wings and a black, mobile swastika to its breast with the date "1941". The eagle is encircled by a bronze-colored, 70mm diameter wreath.
