BACKGROUND: The DRKB, "Deutscher Reichskriegerbund" (German National-veterans’-league), was formed during WWI, and was based on the DKB, "Deutscher Kriegerbund," originally formed after the Franco-Prussian war in the 1870s. By 1936 it had incorporated most of the varied veterans’ associations into it, and was itself re-named the NS-RKB, "Nationalsozialistische-Reichskriegerbund," in 1938.

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: The 11.5cm x 15.5cm slip-case is comprised of two pieces of orange card stock connected by black fabric tape to both of their sides and bottom. A semi-circular cut is to the top of both the front and back covers, and the front cover features a horizontally rectangular celluloid "window" which allows the membership number to the front cover of the inserted booklet to be seen. Impressed to the front cover beneath this window is the N.S.K.O.V. logo of an encircled, mobile swastika to the center of an Iron Cross against an upright sword surrounded by an oak leaf wreath.
