N035990 NSFK SLEEVE/BREAST INSIGNIA. (NSFK Abzeichen)
BACKGROUND: The NSFK emblem, being the figure of Icarus, modeled after a statue to an aviation pioneer in Berlin, but with a mobile swastika to its base. This insignia is often seen sewn above the right breast pocket, but this changed at some point during the war to the right sleeve.
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Machine embroidered NSFK national emblem consisting of a winged man, (Icarus), in silver wire threads with black accent threads with a canted black swastika superimposed on his legs on a cut-out tan/brown rayon base. 70mm wingspan.
