N029276 NSKK MOTORSTANDARTE 147 COLLAR TAB.
(Kragenpatten)BACKGROUND: The collar tabs of the NSKK, National Sozialistisches Kraftfahr Korps, (National Socialist Motor Corps), can be traced back to 1923 when the SA introduced a Kraftfahr Abteilung, (Motor Section), to transport personnel as required. In April 1930 the SA-Kraftfahr Abteilung had evolved into the NSAK, National Sozialistisches Automobil Korps, (National Socialist Automobile Corps), and in April 1931 the NSAK was re-designated NSKK. The SA-Kraftfahr Abteilung and the NSAK wore collar tabs in the color of their parent formation while the NSKK collar tabs were black with a couple of exceptions. The left hand side collar tab indicated the wearers rank and the right hand side collar tab normally featured a unit designation.
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Black wool collar tabs with metal number numerals (14/M147) for a member of 14th Company, Motorstandarte 147. The collar tab is piped in twisted silver/aluminum cord and is mounted on a tan buckram backing. Tab is in nice untouched original condition. (Ex Philippe Gillain Collection)
