BACKGROUND: The NSKOV, "National Sozialistische Kriegsopferversorung" (National Socialist War-disabled-support [Organization]), was formed in 1930 and institutionalized in 1933, as an associated society assisting NSDAP party members who had become disabled as a result of war injuries.
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: A 3.5cm x 5cm stamped alloy badge that depicts the NSKOV insignia central over the city of "Bad Aachen". The embossed text reads, "Kriegsopfer und Frontsoldaten, Ehrentag, 12.8.34, Bad Aachen" or "War Victims and Soldiers from the Front, Special Day, 8/12/34, Bad Aachen." Spring pin to the reverse. Unmarked.
