N026591 BAHNSCHUTZPOLIZEI SERVICE TUNIC. (Feldbluse)

BACKGROUND: The Bahnschutzepolizei, (Railway Protection Police), were established, by the RBD in 1933 with volunteers from the SA and SS, to protect the railway network. Originally they wore a navy blue uniform, but this was eventually changed to blue/grey circa 1941.

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Blue/grey wool constructed tunic has a five button front that leads to a double hook and eyelet to the throat with a blue lay down wool collar. A pair of matching shoulder insignia show the rank of Unterwachtmeister. Nice pair of collar tabs. The pleated breast pockets and hip patch pockets have button scallop flaps. French cuffs. The interior is fully lined. The chest measures approximately 38". All buttons and insignia look to be original stitching to the tunic. Super nice!
