BACKGROUND: The NSDAP long service awards were instituted in April of 1939, in three classes, for unbroken, unblemished periods of time served in any of the various Nazi Party formations. Service between February of 1925 and January of 1933, during the "Kampfzeit" (Struggle-time), counted as double. The first class was awarded for twenty-five years service, the second class for fifteen years, and the third class for ten years service.

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: A ribbed rayon ribbon for the third class NSDAP long service award, in brown with dual, vertical, white outer edge stripes, between which is fixed a stamped alloy cypher. Pin is complete.
