BACKGROUND:
The 11th summer Olympic games were held in Berlin in 1936 and resulted in many official, semi-official and unofficial badges and awards.PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: A 80mm x 72mm metal badge with a white enamel and gilt finish. It takes the form of the Brandenburg gates above the five interlocking Olympic circles, with "1936" to the top of the gates and "XI. Olympiade Berlin" to its base. A horizontal pin-back device is to its reverse. Maker marked to Deumer. The emblem is known as Olympiade-Autoplakette, so for use at cars. It is shown in "Deutsche Kraftfahrt" from July 1936 in relation to NSKK serving for the Olympic Games. Nice large size!
