N020786 ATHLETICS' ASSOCIATION MEMBER'S BELT BUCKLE. (Koppelschloß)
BACKGROUND: Various sports related organizations all few under the control of the Deutscher Turnerbund (German Athletics Association). All wore the Turnverein buckle with the "FFFF" insignia for "Frish, Frof, Fromm, Frie" which translates into "Fresh, Happy, Pious and Free".
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Die stamped, alloy, box buckle features a pebbled field with a high relief, embossed "FFFF" insignia. Reverse with brazed buckle catch, prong bar, and prongs all intact. 65mm x 50mm (for the standard 45mm belt). Unmarked. Nice example.
