A solid, stamped alloy badge with a gilt wash. The award, which is roughly in the form of a vertical oval, features an open topped oak leaf wreath surrounding a stylized eagle with a mobile swastika to its breast, beneath which is a square on its point with concentric circles to it and "D. Sch. V." (For "Deutsche Schutzen Verband") embossed across it. Original pin back hanger with crossed rifles attached.
