N009284 NSDAP 1939 NATIONAL COLONY DAY BADGE. (Kolonialtag Abzeichen) 

Stamped alloy badge in the form of a vertical oval. An eagle with outstretched wings is to the center of the badge, with each wing tip extending beyond the boundaries of the oval. Beneath the eagle is the outline of the continent of Africa, with its four German colonies shaded in. Above the eagle is a sunburst, over which is superimposed the pentagonal shield emblem of the "Reichskolonialbund" (National-colonial-league), which features a mobile swastika within a diamond-shaped border, from whose points emanate bordered double stripes, with a constellation to the formed division to its upper left. "Reichskolonialtagung" (National-colonial-convention) is scrolled along the border of the oval to the top, and "Wein 16.-18. Mai 1939," with dual oak leaves at either end, is similarly scrolled along its bottom. Its unmarked, hollow-backed reverse has a horizontal pin-back device.
