N003490 1933 H.J. FRANKEN-OSTMARK RALLY BADGE. (H.J. Abzeichen)

A shield-shaped cast alloy "tinnie" with bronze wash measures approximately 2.5cm x 4.5cm with the letters "H" and "J" along a horizontal bar to either side of a central, mobile swastika, behind which is an eagle, half obscured by a series of alternating smooth and ribbed diagonal bars. The bars and eagle are the heraldic symbols of Nuremberg. To the base of the image is embossed "1. ("Gesetzlich Geschützt;" Protected by Law) stamped to either side of the vertical pin-back device crimped unto it.
