C14853 ITALIAN ISSUE VASELINE CONTAINER.
This 1½ inch wide round metal container and approximately ½ inch high, was meant to make vaseline potable to soldiers. The writing on the top states that it is; Vaselina Pura, which translates to pure vaseline. The entire container would have been a light blue, however, the sides are now slightly discolored and the bottom shows no sign of coloring and remains silver. In the center of the jar on the top, there is a cross with the iconic serpent in the interior. The cross and serpent are light blue while there is a light shadow of navy blue to give its form. It still contains vaseline and it can be opened. This particular container shows sign of age and use with the discoloration on the top. It is in good condition
