C066187 U.S. THOMPSON SUB-MACHINE GUN  (Inert/Deactivated).

The Thompson submachine gun is one of the most famous of machine guns that was developed by then Colonel J. T. Thompson during WWI but came into production too late to be used during that war. It went though a few revisions until the production of the Thompson Submachine Gun Cal. .45 M1 in early 1942. The M1 came about through the high demand for the weapon so it was simplified to speed up production. It could no longer accept the drum magazines used on earlier models and came equipped with either a 20 or 30 round stick magazine. The M1 along with the further simplified M1A1 were used till the end of WWII and on into Korea and Vietnam and even today it is considered the best weapon of WWII by many Veterans. The Thompson is complete and in very nice condition. Serial number of "574587". Cock but no click deactivation. Perfect for Museum uniform display. Nice!

Please note, due to Postal Regulations. De-activated firearms and Inert Ordnance may not be shipped outside of Canada.
