Rhodesian UDI Period Epaulettes (Slip-Ons) for a Captain of the 2nd Rhodesian African Rifles (RAR) of the Rhodesian Army during the UDI (Unilateral Declaration of Independence) period from 1965 to 1980, when Rhodesia declared itself independent of Great Britain in order to avoid the mandate for majority (Black) rule. Rhodesian President Ian Smith, a former RAF fighter pilot during World War 2 was the leader of the country of independent Rhodesia throughout its 15 year life. Matched pair of khaki-green cotton slip on shoulder rank insignia (epaulettes) with three embroidered stars each in subdued black embroidery with the letters 2RAR horizontally at the ends. Nice scarce matched set of original officers insignia to a country that died 40 years ago.
