BACKGROUND: The "Milizia Volontaria per la Securezza Nationale" ( National Security Volunteer Militia) or "MVSN." The Blackshirts, on February 1, 1923 became the MVSN which later was replaced by the "GNR" (Guardia Nazionale Repubblicana) by the Italian Social Republic. The MVSN fought in every theater of war that Italy did.
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: This booklet, printed in 1936, consists of 61 pages of text, black and white photos, illustrations and tables measures approximately 14.5cm x 11cm that is bound by a heavy weight card stock cover. The book has the owner’s name written to the first page along with various hand written notations to the inside. The spine shows some wear and a small tear, but this is a very nice worn and used example. (Ex Philippe Gillain Collection)
