C051369 POST WAR RCAF FLIGHT LIEUTENANTíS GREATCOAT. An air force blue wool greatcoat with a four button, double breasted front with lay down, peaked collar. Two integral shoulder straps with rank badges representing Flight Lieutenant are present along with "Canada" shoulder flashes. Two large hip pockets are present to the front with diagonal flaps. To the interior are two breast pockets, to which the right pocket has a white tag showing the owner as "P. Brophy", as well as the date "3-23-57". A larger silk tag is stitched to the bottom of the silk lining representing "The House of Hobberlin" of "Hamilton-Canada". There are numerous tears and holes to the silk lining, as well as to the stitching that originally secured it to the side wool panel. There are numerous moth holes and tracking to both the front and back. The chest measures approximately 39". Brophy was a tailgunner in a Lancaster during WW2.
