C046991 ROYAL CANADIAN NAVY WW2 SHIPS MK.XV A.P. 13231A BULKHEAD TELEPHONE.
A sound powered bulkhead telephone, originally developed by the Marine Department of Telephone Manufacturing Company Limited for use on board ships. This model is self energizing and completely independent of a battery that allowed communication between rooms. The heavy (15 lbs), 8cm x 20cm x 24cm telephone is clearly identified by the brass plaque to the front panel along with the manufacture "Tele. Mfg. Co. London". Under the receiver is also marked "TMC A.P. 13220". When opened, a date of "Dec 1944" is stamped to the speaker. Also present to the interior is a "Montreal Dry Docks Ltd. Stores Requisition" that is dated for "13/1/55" that has instructions "For Two Phones Connect". The crank still functions properly. Bulb is also present and the cord to the handset is in good condition.
