C045691 FRENCH M1886 1st PATTERN COMBAT BAYONET.

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: An epée bayonet, made for the 1886/93 Label 8mm rifle, with a brass hilt and a cruciform, 33cm (13") cruciform blade with its original blackened metal scabbard. What comprises its metal cross guard is a circular muzzle guide, beneath and to the left of which is the movable stud which would lock the bayonet to the rifle along the stud guide, and a curved quillon to which is stamped what appears to be "46254". The stud still functions perfectly. The scabbard has stamped to the belt hanger a couple of indecipherable letters and numbers.
