A five place medal bar that was awarded posthumously for action on Gold Beach, Normandy on D-Day where Pte. C.J. Oldridge was severely wounded and later died of his wounds. Also included are various pages of information on Pte. Oldridge, his movements at RYES that lead to being awarded the Military Medal, copies of the War Diary of the 2nd Battalion, the Devonshire Regiment from May 31st to June 10th, 1944 (England to France), photocopy of "The London Gazette" dated for September 28, 1944 with mention of Pte. Oldridge who was awarded The Military Medal, photocopies of maps of "The British Assault Area" along Gold and Juno beaches. Lastly, colour photographs of a plaque within The Parish Church of St. Mary the Virgin, Westonzoyland "To the Memory of the Fallen" where Pte. Oldridge is mentioned. The medals are modern mounted and are from left to right The Military Medal, 1939-1945 Star, France-Germany Star, 1939-1945 Defense Medal and the 1939-1945 War Medal.
