Roughly 32mm diameter, stamped metal disk, to whose stepped, convex obverse is cut the letter "K," (or the Emperor). The "K" stands for Kaiser Karl. These are two types of the cockades, "FJ" which stands for Kaiser Franz Joseph and "K" which stands for Kaiser Karl. This K type is wartime production. Both original attachment loops are present.
