BACKGROUND: 1907 saw the Duke of Connaught’s Royal Canadian Hussars achieve regimental status as the "17th Duke of York’s Royal Canadian Hussars." Although in 1920, the Canadian Militia was re-organized, the 17th maintained regular training.

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: A brass cap badge that measures approximately 4.5cm x 5cm that features the white rose of Yorkshire, with crown, along with the roman numerals XVII.
