C036388 PHILIPPINE CONSTABULARY OFFICER GROUPING.

This grouping, includes a M1902 Army Officer Sabre, sword belt and document grouping for Captain Michael J. Byrne who was tried before a Court of Inquiry. The saber shows the Philippine Constabulary crest to the scabbard. The saber shows heavy wear and damage with the pommel button missing which causes the "D" knuckle bow to come apart of the grip. The wire wrapping is also loose. The washer is missing leaving the tang visible. The etched blade measures approximately 76cm long which shows darkening and scratches from the scabbard. The scabbard measures approximately 79cm long. The 5cm x 81cm (32") long brown leather belt has a round, two piece brass buckle to the front, as well as leather hanger straps, of which one is torn off, but included. The documents include eight typewritten pages of documents from the "Headquarters, 14th Infantry Fort Davis, C.Z" dated for 1928 re: "A Summary of the errors, irregularities and illegalities in the findings of the Court of Inquiry, re: Michael J. Byrne, Captain Infantry in Class B proceedings" and a mailing tube addressed to Michael J. Bryrne from The Adjutant General’s Office with a large chart of said discrepancies. The tube and chart show moderate/heavy wear causing the both to become fragile. The last items is a badge grouping that includes rank badges and infantry badges.
