C036056 U.S. KOREAN WAR ERA, COMBAT PANTS LINER.

BACKGROUND: When the U.S. Army entered the Korean war they were using mostly the same uniforms and equipment that were used in WW 2. With the harsh weather encountered in the winter of 1950-1951, and the efforts to work off existing supplies of M1943 pattern clothing, caused a loss of effectiveness and a great amount of suffering within the U.S. troops. The M1951 uniform was designed for use in all weather conditions, as it used the same layered principle as earlier uniforms, but was particularly effective in extreme cold conditions, either wet or dry.
