C035592 ROYAL CANADIAN ARTILLERY GROUPING.

A grouping that consists of a coloured field service cap, battledress tunic and gas mask carrier. The coloured field service cap, is constructed of a scarlet wool body and crown with a blue wool peak and flap. Yellow piping is attached to the flap, as well as, the front and back seam. A Royal Canadian Artillery cap badge is affixed to the left side via lugs and cotter pin. To the front are two brass General Service buttons. To the inside is a small size label of "7 1/4". The cap does not appear to have been worn. The khaki wool tunic with five, painted metal dish buttons are to the front, that leads to a lay-down collar. There are pleated patch pockets to each breast, whose scalloped flaps have button closures. A pair of integral button shoulder straps are to each side of the neck. The outside seam slashes at the pleated cuffs also have single, hidden button closures. Each sleeve bears an "R.C.A." and "Canada" shoulder flash. All of the metal dish buttons retain their original olive drab paint. Three stitched eyelet ventilation holes are beneath each armpit. An integral belt, with a nickel-silver buckle and vertical wool retaining loop on its opposite side, is to the waistband. The back has multiple pleats to it above the waistband. The interior collar, waistband, and along either side of the front closure is lined in tan-colored cotton, and a large, vertical slash pocket, in the same material as the lining, is to each interior breast. The interior is stamped with a "C" broad arrow, as well as a "Size No. 11", "S&G Clothing Ltd." and dated for 1945. The last item is a gas mask carrier with carrying strap. A handwritten name of "G.T. Rowntree", along with an address is printed under the flap.
