C035293 116TH BATTALION 3RD CANADIAN DIVISION "Named" UNIFORM GROUP.

The tunic is a British 1907 pattern, five, 25mm diameter Canadian button front with two pleated patch breast and non pleated/slash hip pockets, all with button flaps. A pair of metal hooks and corresponding eye are to the collar as well as a pair of "116th Battalion" collar dogs. To the integral shoulder straps are brass "Canada", as well as collar dogs to each side of the collar that are held in place by lugs and cotter pin. Above the left breast is a two place ribbon bar, of which the first ribbon (Victory Medal) has the front missing, but remnants can be seen on the back of the bar and a British Warm Medal (1914-1918). To the unlined interior is a black ink stamp "C" broad arrow. Brass belt hooks are to either side seam. The chest measures approximately 38". Included is a khaki wool melton arm band with the formation patch for the 116th Battalion (Ontario County) 3rd Canadian Division armband. The tunic shows wear with some moth tracking to the wool. Included are a pair of wool battledress trousers that have a waist of 30" and an inseam of 30". The wool shows moderate/heavy usage and wear with mothing, holes and overall wear. A handwritten name of "J.A. Greenwood" is to the waistband. Included are photocopied "Attestation paper" pages for John Arthur Greenwood of the USA who agreed to serve the CEF on August 17, 1917.
