The khaki-colored wool side cap has fold-down side panels which scallop down into a front double button closure. Both of the two small alloy buttons are embossed with St. Stephen’s crown. Behind this closure is a small fold-down visor. Proceeding from behind the visor to the forward peak of the crown are three forest green inverted "V" rank soutache, signifying the rank of Corporal. Above the soutache is a cockade whose circular center features the horizontally arranged Hungarian national colours of red, white and green. These colours have worn with time. To the left side panel is a green and red inverted triangle with three brown tress arches (Bocskai) sewn to it. A plume of black raven feathers extends from between the side panel where a small pocket is sewn. The cap is lined in tan cotton with a gray leather sweatband. The interior is stamped showing a 1944 date.
