C034791 VIETNAM WAR ERA U.S. M-1 COMBAT HELMET WITH CAMOUFLAGE COVER.

A pre-1964 pattern helmet and liner with sweatband, nape strap and airborne web chin cup. A mitchel pattern helmet cover dated 1965 and a camouflage band with bandage and "C" ration spoon. It shows faded ink graffiti that is a stylized cross and "Idaho". Helmet and all components exhibit uniform "salty" "been there" appearance.

Note; It is the whole helmet assembly makes this an “Airborne Helmet”, together with the web chin cup, the web chinstrap on the steel shell is distinct to an airborne helmet, as it snaps into the airborne liner to prevent the two from separating with the jolt as the paratrooper’s chute opens.
