This group consists of a tam o’shanter, tunic, neck tie and kit bag.
1. The khaki wool bonnet comprised of a crown with a tan colored wool Touri (pom-pom) to its center, a body with a single seam to the rear and a non-adjustable . The 60mm tall badge, with a silver-like finish sits on a 7cm square section of Queen’s Own Cameron Highlanders of Canada tartan. The badge is affixed via lugs and cotter pin, as well as a business card for "C.L. Robinson". A white manufacture tag for "Wm. Anderson & Sons Ltd, Edinburgh & Glasow" is sewn to the interior of the crown, as well as having the handwritten name "C.L. Robinson" printed in ink. Very nice condition.
2. The Khaki wool tunic with a three, mis-matched button fly front closure that leads to a lay down collar. There are pleated patch pockets to each breast, whose scalloped flaps have button closures. The integral shoulder straps are buttoned near the neck. The outside seam slashes at the pleated cuffs also have single, hidden button closures. Three reinforced stitched eyelet ventilation holes are beneath each armpit. An integral belt, with a nickel-silver buckle and vertical wool retaining loop on its opposite side, is to the waistband. The back has multiple pleats to it above the waistband. A pair of pips are to each shoulder strap representing the rank of Lieutenant, while each arm bears a Queens Own Cameron Highrs. Canada shoulder flash and a 2nd Infantry Division patch. Four overseas bars with a "39er" is above the left facing cuff. The interior waistband, and along either side of the front closure is lined in tan-colored cotton, and a large, vertical slash pocket, in the same material as the lining, is to each interior breast. The interior is stamped with a "C" broad arrow, as well as "Size No. 11, Height 5'9" to 5'10", Breast 38" to 39", S. Stall & Son Ltd., Winnipeg Man. 1944." There are some moth holes present. The wool neck tie measures approximately 118cm or 46" long with some small holes.
3. Lieutenant Robinson’s: Kit Bag, Canvass Water Bucket, Gaiters, Puttees, Late War British Web belt dated 1944, Canadian P37 Revolver Holster for Webley MK 6, enameled Tea Mug,1944 dated Utensils, and Canadian manufacture Mess Tin. All out of the same garage sale.
