C033775 BRITISH/CANADIAN .303 CLEANING ROPE.
The standard issue riffle of the Canadian Army was the Lee-Enfield No 4 Mk I Rifle. It was a bolt action, manual repetition, .303 cal , single fire rifle, that could be equipped with a bayonet for hand combat and a scope for sharp shooting. The cleaning rope is about 65cm in total, with one end having three braided loops for cleaning swatches and the other end terminating in a 8cm brass cylindrical weight that was used to drop down the barrel and pull through the rope.
