C033094 BRITISH ISSUE CASED 6 X 30 POWER BINOCULARS WITH CASE.

A pair of brass body binoculars with their original neck strap and brown leather case. The binoculars have a black finish, with black leatherette covering the sides of the main body of both lenses. Edge wear may be seen to the top and bottom of the body, the double bridge that connects the two lenses, and the larger lenses. Its eye sockets are of black bakelite. The optics are quite spotty. The adjustable disk to the base of the column that connects the bridges work perfectly, tightening them into position but the focus adjustments are seized in place. The front plates each have a large broad arrow to them, while the plates to each side of the eye pieces are marked “Prismatic No. 3 (MkII) x 6 14900 G, while the opposite plate is marked ‘W. Watson & Sons Ltd. London 1916. The brown leather neck strap is supple and strong condition. Included, is a matching brown leather case with carrying strap. Under the leather hinged lid, to the padded lining, is also a manufacture marking for W. Watson &II Sons Ltd. The top of the lid is inscribed “Lieut. E.A. Bird, M.C. C.F.A.” The carrying strap for the case, also is supple and strong.
