C032993 BRITISH MKII PARATROOPERS HELMET.

Similar in style to the German paratroopers’ helmet, the British Mk. II Paratroopers Helmet was originally introduced towards the end of 1943. Its exterior had a very rough-textured olive drab overcoat. To the interior, its leather and webbed liner are fully intact, with a thick felt padding ringing the inside edge of the helmet, with a wider portion to the rear to protect the neck. There are four khaki/tan HBT web straps, with a tie string, is to the interior crown for fit adjustment. Interior top pad is loose, but still present. Its natural leather sweatband is stamped "BMB" (Briggs Motor Bodies Ltd), being the manufacturer's initials, and "8", within a shield, indicating the size and "1944" indicating the date of manufacture. The three point web chinstrap is complete with its chamois leather lined chin cup intact. Comes with and original helmet net with pieces of burlap attached as scrim (scrim is most probably collector added). Nice large size helmet.
