C032792 U.S. WW1 ISSUED OFFICER'S M1910 VISOR CAP.
It was a WW1 issued cap which replaced the bell-crown model. It was used up until the 1920's. This army officer visor cap is made from khaki with brown leather lining, cap, and strap. A cap badge depicting the U.S. coat of arms is affixed to the front via a cap and screw post. A pair of small buttons, also bearing the coat of arms, keeps the small leather chin strap in place. The leather strap has torn. The cap has a soft, brown leather sweatband and is lined in a silk/rayon material that has a small tear. The sweatband has its stitching pulled away from the body of the cap, leaving gaps. A small paper size tag of "7 ½" is visible. A couple of small holes can be seen under the right wearing rim by the metal grommets.
