C032592 BRITISH FLINTLOCK BLUNDERBUSS.

An 18th century flintlock blunderbuss that was used on British, French and American warships during the Revolutionary War. They were made for close quarters. The heavy wood and brass musket has a brass trigger guard, trigger, walnut stock, and brass shoulder/butt plate. The silver flint lock plate that is "G.R." along with crown and Tower Armoury plate is not original to the musket. The musket measures approximately 88cm in overall length with various pieces of the walnut missing with various surface marks (dents or gouges). There are also some repairs using small pieces of lead or tin. Numerous repairs.
