BACKGROUND: In 1936 the Royal Regiment of Toronto Grenadiers" was formed through amalgamation of "The Royal Grenadiers" and "The Toronto Regiment." By 1939 they were formally known as their present name. They are the largest army regiment of the Canadian Forces Primary Reserve. Their motto’s include: "I Serve", "Difficulties Be Damned", and "Shame to he who thinks evil of it."

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: A blue melton, machine embroidered patch with red stitching forms "The Royal Regiment of Canada." British manufactured.
