C025795 13TH BATTALION ROYAL HIGHLANDERS UNIFORM GROUPING.

This grouping consists of a highland cut tunic and box pleat kilt.

1. A five button, highland cut, khaki wool tunic with British General List brass buttons to the front that leads to a fold over collar with a pair of hooks and eyelets to the neck opening. A pair of brass General List Canadian collar dogs are to each collar point. A pair of integral, button shoulder straps are to each side of the neck, along with a brass "Canada tiles attached via lugs and cotter pin. A small pin is attached to the left wearing breast pocket representing The Black Watch Royal Highlanders. Formation badges for the 13th Battalion. Other insignia includes two blue overseas service chevrons to right sleeve indicating between two years overseas service and a Cartwright trade badge to the right wearing sleeve. All brass buttons are the British General Service buttons. The left wearing hip pocket is missing it’s button leaving a tear, but the button is included in the pocket. A pair of brass belt hooks are present to the side seams. A stamp to the interior pocket bag shows the tunic as a size “3", and height, as well as a manufacture stamp and date of 1916. The wool shows typical wear.

2. A box pleated wool kilt in the colours of the Canadian Royal Highlanders tartan that has two leather straps missing and is held in place by large safety pins. The interior waistband has a “7RH” stamp. The waist measures approximately 36" and 27.5" in overall length. Two green tapes are affixed to the waistband. (Ex Taboika Collection)
