

C025593 WW2 BRITISH ENFIELD RIFLE OILER.
BACKGROUND:
The standard issue riffle of the Canadian/British Army was the Lee-Enfield No 4 Mk I Rifle. It was a bolt action, manual repetition, .303 cal , single fire rifle, that could be equipped with a bayonet for hand combat and a scope for sharp shooting.PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Roughly 9.5cm tall, 157mm diameter, cylindrical, brass metal construction, oiler dispenser for the Lee-Enfield No 4 Mk I Rifle. The dispenser has a diamond knurled screw off top with leather washer intact. The top has a steel metal "spoon" soldered to the bottom that fits down the center of the dispenser when screw cap is applied. The cap screws into a threaded insert that has been soldered in the cylinder. The bottom of the cylinder is sealed with a soldered brass plug. The top has been stamped with a "broad arrow", "EFD" and "K3" surmounted by a Kings Crown. Some oil is present in the oiler.
