C024091 "52ND "NEW ONTARIO REGIMENT" INFANTRY BATTALION CAP BADGE.

BACKGROUND: The "New Ontario Regiment" were raised under the authority of G.O. 86 on July 1, 1915. Mobilized in Port Arthur, they sailed on November 23, 1916 with 40 officers and 1132 other ranks. The battalion was disbanded September 15, 1920.

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: A stamped blackened brass cap badge, about 3.5cm x 4cm, which consists of a "52." The reverse is a mirror image of the obverse with tangs. A very nice example.
