An Officer’s First Pattern, two piece construction badge. The badge consists of a center piece of a King's crown with “Canada” to the bottom of the crown, over a circular banner with flowers to center. The banner is inscribed, "Cape Breton Highlanders". The center piece is superimposed on a large r maple leaf and thistle head, with a banner to bottom. Embossed on the banner in Gaelic "Siol na Fear Fearail" (A breed of manly men). The reverse is a mirror image of the obverse which has a slider.
