BACKGROUND: The Irish Regiment began in 115 as the 110th with headquarters in Toronto ON. In 1940 they reorganized for war by establishing the "1st Battalion" (1940-146) and the "2nd Battalion" which was formed in reserve army. The 2nd disbanded in 1965, but reformed at Sudbury ON by conversion of "58th Field Regiment." The 2nd Motto is "Fior Go Bas" (Faithful Unto Death).

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: This pair are a dark green wool that is machine embroidered with yellow thread "The Irish Regiment of Canada." It is approximately 10cm x 4cm that has it’s original backing.
