BACKGROUND:
During WWII the RCAF had three main responsibilities: British Commonwealth Air Training Plan where Canada made a massive contribution to training Military aviators, Home War Establishment for coastal defense, shipping and air defense in Canada, and Overseas War Establishment.PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Badge in the form of spread wings with a "O" at it’s center. It measures approximately 4cm x 1cm with backing plate, screw posts and caps are in tact. Reverse is marked "Sterling."
