C021284 1870's VINTAGE POCKET TELESCOPE.

Vintage Mid-1870’s era, U.S. Military Pocket Telescope / Spyglass, Brass & Hardwood Construction, Clear Optics, Very Nice Condition. Original U.S. Military type high quality Pocket Telescope, Pocket Spyglass, Made of Brass and Hardwood. The Pocket Telescope has three (3) Brass pull-out extensions. The end cap is removable and is made of Brass. The viewing port has a small Brass sliding door which covers the glass in the eye piece . The Optics are nice and clear and there are no cracks and no damage to the Glass Lenses. The Hardwood covering the Brass Body is in excellent condition with no cracks. The Pocket Telescope folds to an overall size of about 6 1/8" in length and fully expands to a size of about 16 ½" inches. The Diameter of the large end is about 1 1/4" inches in diameter. I cannot find any manufacturing markings on the Telescope and I can only guess at the Power of about X 7 Power. The Pocket Telescope is of very high quality manufacture and weighs about 9/10th of a Pound. My guess is later 1870/s early 1880’s great piece for you’re saddle bag display.
