C018362 M1905 CANADIAN LIEUTENANT'S COLONEL PATROL TUNIC.
A red wool, M1905 pattern patrol tunic with an five brass button front closure leading to a hook and bar closure at the throat, where a black, protective flap is sewn to the left interior of its stand-up collar. A brass collar dog representing Simcoe Foresters is attached to either side of this collar. The left and right shoulder strap are sewn to the shoulder and secured with a button to the top. A brass Kings Crown is situated above one brass "pip" which indicates the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. The brass button to the shoulder straps, front breast pockets and to the front closure are approximately 2cm in diameter and show a a King's crown separating maple leafs that encircle a beaver with the words "Canada" and "Militia". The cuffs measure 12cm from the point. The interior is fully lined with a now faded red silk while the sleeves are lined in a pin-striped cotton. Two 7cm slits are to the reverse along the seam of the front panel. on the reverse also feature golden cord outlining their white piping, which rises and loops decoratively where it comes to a point. The black collar shows fraying and is faded to the inside. There looks to be tar on the bottom left front panel. The right cuff show some mothing while the left is in good shape. There is also some small tearing to the right underarm along the outside.
