A New Zealand private purchase officers’ cloth visor made by Vance Vivian of Wellington. One squadron (A Squadron) of the Long Range Desert Group (LRDG) was comprised of New Zealanders, who were the first recruits to the unit. Most were recalled to the Pacific theater after the surrender of the Afrika Korps in the summer of 1943. Textbook original LRDG cap badge affixed to the front through the visor body. Original leather chinstrap with small brass New Zealand Forces side buttons. Original insignia for this legendary unit is extremely hard to find -- an original badge comes on the market about once every five years.
